Using DBMS_LDAP in ON-LOGON Trigger [message #196142]

Hi,

How can I use DBMS_LDAP in On-Logon trigger. I have already tested DBMS_LDAP against ldap server and it is authenticating. I have a Forms application which I now want to authenticate against LDAP.

Appreciate your assistance.

Hi David,

Thanks for the reply.
Basically we dont have OID. I want to use our Novell LDAP.

I was able to search our LDAP through 'WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED' trigger.

No, not yet. I want to customize the default login behaviour of Oracle forms so that instead of authenticating against database user/password, it authenticates against our Novell Ldap.

Okay, googling 'authenticate Novell Ldap' I found http://www.stbernard.com/products/docs/ip_technotes_4x/ldapnetware.pdf#search=%22authenticate%20Novell%20Ldap%22 and http://www.usefulutilities.com/support/usr/ldap.html

Can you use 'ora_ffi' to access Novell LDAP or perhaps use a 'host' command to access it?
