Can anyone help please?

I have a pre_logon trigger which works fine - when I tried to add an on_logon trigger - I get a FRM-41810 error - error creating menu. If I take this trigger out again the error goes away - is there something else I should be doing in the trigger or something Im not doing that is causing a menu error?

strange that the menu works fine until I add the on-logon when nothing has changed in the menu

Thanks
S

Do you have a Call_Form command in this trigger?

It even happens when I have just NULL; in the on logon trigger. Just in case its relevant I also have a pre_logon trigger.

but nothing has changed in terms of menus between having the on logon and not so I cant see why this error is appearing.

Thx

Found this as the first link http://www.dbasupport.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11753

Quote:

Try to recompile your MMB file and attach it to Form ..it will work. If it does not work Change the MMB file name and location then recompile it.

Thanks, yes I have googled and came across that- I had tried it before you suggested it but have tried it again and I still get the error

It seems it goes into the ON_LOGON as I have a message statement in the on_logon which is displayed, then it goes into the on_error trigger and raises the 41810 error.

There is no other error raised before this - while searching for a problem I have come across a number of problems stating this error but mostly with another error before it but I dont have that.

I have added a WHEN OTHERS handles in the ON-LOGOn however the same still happens the message is displayed and the processing goes to the on_error block.

There have been no changes other than adding the on_logon trigger. The menu works fine again if I take the on-logon trigger out.

Another update/more info, the Menu Module of the property palette for the startup form I am trying to run has a wee red cross beside the "Menu Module" text - anyone know about that?

Thx

Another update - I took the starting version of the for which didnt have the red cross at the Menu Module property and added an on-logon trigger and I get the same message.

I was going to rebuild my screen bit by bit to find out if it was code I had introduced causing this problem. but from the results above it seems it is not my code but adding the on logon trigger.

Please can someone help! I am keen to get past this as I have another problem to work on after this and am keen to see if my solution for the next problem works!!!

Just to update you. I found a solution.

This cannot be done - if a form uses a menu with menu security, then an On-logon trigger cannot be used and will throw this FRM-41810 error - found this on Metalink
